ImageErrol Service, owner of the new McDonald's on Mack at Moran in Detroit, was the guest speaker at the April 8 noon luncheon of Rotary of Grosse Pointe at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Service told Rotarians how he came to the United States as a boy with his parents from Jamaica.

His first job was with McDonald's, and he has remained with McDonald's ever since. As a corporate executive with McDonald's, Service was sent from Washington, D.C., to Detroit to assist and train store owners and managers. Eventually, he applied for his own franchise store. Today he has 16 stores. He described the added detail and attention to the environment that was invested in the new store, which he said was "an invisible bridge" between two communities.
