Empowering Voters, Defending Democracy

Sue Acton is here representing the League of Women Voters as the President of our Grosse Pointe League.  Somehow when she joined the League, she had no idea how much fun she would have, first in Voter Services, then as President.

I believe some of you may know her from her days as a loan officer for Chase, which followed some corporate treasury years at Burroughs.  In those days, she was even a Grosse Pointe Rotarian, having served for a few years as YOUR first female Roving Reporter.

But, a decade ago, her kids moved out and she’s been working in the community, guiding the Outreach programs at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church and substitute teaching in Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods schools.  Both careers were great preparation for steering an amazing group of community leaders as we work together to defend democracy.  She’s here to let you all know what they do and talk about current projects.
