Chris Tull, Executive Director of Humble Design Detroit, will join us to share how Humble Design helps our Detroit-area neighbors move from homelessness into stable housing by transforming empty residences into fully furnished, thoughtfully designed homes. Through community-donated furniture and household goods, partner referrals, and volunteer-powered “home installs,” the organization creates warm, welcoming spaces that help individuals and families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Our club is proud to support this mission—items from our recent garage sale were donated to Humble Design to help furnish homes for local families and individuals starting over. Humble Design Detroit serves Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties and furnishes multiple homes each week, helping hundreds of people annually across Metro Detroit.

Ed Gotfredson, President of the Moross Greenway Project, will share about this volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit partnership of Eastside Detroit community, civic, and religious groups working together to beautify and maintain the landscaping across seven median islands on Moross Road, between Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center and the I-94 service drive. The greenway includes extensive perennial gardens and rotating public art/sculptures that highlight local artists while enhancing this gateway corridor.

Many of the GP Rotarians have been active volunteers in the Spring and Fall clean ups for this organization and Ed joins us just ahead of the Spring Clean Up event on Saturday, April 11th.

Jennifer Margraf is the Executive Director and Chief Program Officer of Kevin's Song - a Grosse Pointe–based nonprofit dedicated to preventing suicide, raising awareness, and supporting individuals and families impacted by loss. The organization provides educational programs, community events, and resources that reduce stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health. Through advocacy and outreach, Kevin’s Song works to build connected, compassionate communities where hope and help are always within reach.

Laurie Bunn joined the Grosse Pointe Rotary Club on January 21, 2026. We will get to learn more about her as she gives her New Member Presenation. 

Nick Krayacich, Immediate Past District Governor and current District Endowment Chair, will share about the RI Endowment Fund. This endowment is our promise to the future - a way to ensure that long after our meetings have ended and our projects are complete, the good we set in motion continues to grow. 

Meet Gardner and Sladen Scholarship recipients and parents 

Katy Klimczuk is the Director of Philantrophy at Literacy for Kids, a local arts and literacy based nonprofit serving the students of Detroit. 

We will be joined by the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority to share about the NEW Gordie Howe International Bridge. 

Jackie Dale, will reflect on her gratitude for her presidency. President Elect, Dave Colton, will introduce the board and the committees for the 2026-2027 year.

Danielle Daguio, Engagement Manager at Keep Growing Detroit, joins us to share about this nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a food-sovereign city—one where most of the fruits and vegetables consumed by Detroiters are grown by residents within Detroit’s city limits. Their vision is to ensure every neighborhood has places to grow food, thoughtfully scaled and integrated into the surrounding community to help expand local community and economic development opportunities that benefit residents.
