On January 14th, we welcomed Ashley and Nicholas Batt, founders of the Bryson and Baker Batt Foundation.
Inspired by the lives of their sons, Bryson and Baker, who sadly passed away from the same rare genetic condition in 2020 and 2022, Ashley and Nick established the Michigan-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit in July 2022 to support families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and those experiencing the loss of a baby. Their mission centers on providing comfort, love, and reassurance so families facing unimaginable circumstances know they are not alone.
Since its founding, the Bryson and Baker Batt Foundation has touched more than 1,000 families, distributing over 500 NICU welcome bags, 400 holiday bags, 300 sunshine bags, and 200 memory boxes. The foundation primarily supports Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Henry Ford Health, Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital, Corewell Health, and Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. In addition to hosting annual volunteer events, such as fleece-tie blanket days, and fundraising galas, their current goals include completing a bereavement room in the NICU at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and beginning construction on another bereavement room at a new hospital. Their 2026 fundraising gala will be held at The Ford House on October 17th, 2026.
