While overall club membership has grown significantly since COVID, average service hours per member have dropped. Survey results showed that most members are willing to travel 20-30 minutes and prefer short commitments of 1-3 hours, with common barriers including scheduling conflicts, physically demanding work, and inconvenient timing. Nearly 75% of respondents also volunteer with other organizations.
In response, the committee recommended reinforcing clear service expectations, encouraging at least two service events per member per year with a 70% participation goal, while offering more flexible, accessible opportunities. Additional strategies include strengthening partnerships with organizations members already support, improving communication and visibility of service events, and enhancing volunteer recognition. Together, these efforts aim to renew engagement and place a stronger emphasis on Rotary’s guiding principle: "Service Above Self."
Thank you, Dawn, for your strong dedication to our club and community!
