Jaylen Bradley joined us last week to give his new member presentation. Jaylen was born and raised in Detroit, and now is dedicated to giving back to his community.
It is clear that for Jaylen, education has always been an important part of his life. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 and interned for multiple government positions including the Mayor of Detroit’s office. In 2023 he graduated from grad school from Georgetown University.
With his impressive academic background, he is now working in Mayor Duggan’s office as the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Policy and Program Advisor. In his role, he aims to reduce gun violence and promote safety throughout the city by working with law enforcement and community organizations. Detroit’s CVI groups saw a 37-83% drop in homicides and non-fatal shootings in the city of Detroit.
When Jaylen is not working, he enjoys spending time with friends and family on the weekends, trying out new restaurants or going to sports games. He is an avid traveler, and has traveled the globe, going to places like Tulum, Cancun , Ghana and across the 50 states. But what is greatly important to Jaylen is giving back in the form of volunteering and coaching in the metro Detroit area.
Jaylen’s motto in life is to “Dream big, set goals, and take action”.
Thank you Jaylen for your inspirational presentation. Our club is lucky to have you!
