Jill and Xavier from Sachse Construction share Sachse's story and purpose.
On June 4th we had the pleasure of welcoming a new member into our club, Barb Carly, sponsored by Heather Mayernik. Barb is the mother of our fellow Rotarian, Jackie Dale.
Barb grew up in Minnesota and spent five exciting years working aboard cruise ships. She later went on to work with the merchant marines before eventually retiring. Today, she lives with Jackie here in Grosse Pointe Woods. We are thrilled to have Barb join our Rotary family and look forward to the contributions she will bring!
We were also joined by Jill and Xavier from the Sachse Construction Academy, now celebrating its 10th year. Through the program, they have introduced more than 150 high school students to careers in construction, offering valuable training and experience. Xavier, who has been with Sachse for over six years, shared insights into the impact this work has on young people entering the field.
In addition, we were proud to announce a $25,000 grant to Full Circle, the largest grant of the year. This generous support will further their important mission in the community.
