On November 20th, we were joined by Julia Roeder, a senior at Grosse Pointe South and our intern. Julia manages the Rotary’s social media accounts and website.
Currently, Julia is the Co-Print Editor-in-Chief of Grosse Pointe South’s student publication, The Tower. Most recently, she won the Student Press Law Center’s 2024 Freedom of Information Award. This is a national award given to one high school journalist and one college journalist. Julia received this recognition for her reporting on the GPPSS School Board. This past summer she was an apprentice at the Detroit Free Press, where she published three stories.
When she is not on assignment for the newspaper, she enjoys playing guitar and singing. For the past two years, she has been playing for the residents at American House Senior Living once a month. Her love for music has also led her to attend over 25 concerts. Thanks Julia for joining us!
