ImageMeals on Wheels on Easter morning was great!

Paul, Belle, and I arrived at Matrix Human Services just before 8. There were delicious Dunkin Donuts bagels, doughnuts, coffee, and water to fuel us, and check-in went very smoothly. Belle put on a few impromptu performances up on the stage there at the center until the meals arrived at 8:15.

The team quickly started a "bucket brigade" to get all the hot and cold meals stacked on stage. Within 15 minutes, all the routes were assigned and everyone had their meals. Most cars of volunteers had 2 or even 3 routes of 5 meals each, and the drop offs took Paul and I about 1 hour. The meals had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, a wheat roll, and a cherry pie. They smelled delicious and everyone was so grateful to get them. Belle was able to say "Hi" and "Happy Easter" at our first and last stop, and she said she had a wonderful time helping "those cute old ladies".

I attached a few pictures of the volunteers stacking the meals.

We were so proud to represent Rotary, and wanted to give you a little recap of our experience.

Yours in Rotary,
