On May 7th we were joined by one of our own members, Michael Hollerbach. Michael shared his personal and professional journey with us.
Michael is a lifelong Grosse Pointer who grew up in a house of six boys. A proud graduate of St. Paul High School on the Lake, he played for the basketball team. He made all his sacraments at St. Paul on the Lake, where he later married his wife in March of 1977. He and his wife now celebrate the joys of grandparenthood, recently welcoming their first grandchild, Noah, this past December.
Michael began his career at Ernst & Young as a CPA after attending Western Michigan University. His job took him across the country from Denver to Detroit. He worked alongside influential people like Bill Pulte, Dan Gilbert, and Tony Soave. At Pulte, he rose through the ranks to become CFO and a member of the board of directors. In the early 2000s, he played a big role in Dan Gilbert’s Rocket Mortgage journey. He helped merge Rock Financial with Quicken Loans.
He later joined the Soave Enterprises team. This is where he brought his expertise to the company’s leadership. In 1999, Michael also founded MDH Financial.
Michael is now retired and enjoys life as a grandfather and a volunteer at Corewell Hospital, giving back to the hospital that he was born at. He loves to golf when the weather is nice and also has a getaway house in Vail Colorado. Just over a year ago, Micheal joined our club and since has been a great Rotarian. Thank you, Michael, for joining us!
