GP Rotarian Steve Brownell introduced Congressman U.S. Timothy Walberg (R MI) from the Seventh District which encompasses the Battle CreekAdrian area.  Elected to the U.S. House in 2006, defeated in 2008 and elected again 2010, Representative Wallberg joked that one seeking federal political office should not count on anything more than “a two year job.”

His background includes extensive experience in the Michigan Legislature and also service as a pastor.  He describes himself as a “conservative,” but also someone willing to listen to what the other side has to say.  He talked about the debt crisis confronting the United States and emphasized that in his opinion now is the time to meaningfully deal with it – not later when it stands to be much worse.

Rep. Wahlberg is the second Congressman to address the Club this year. Rep. Hansen Clarke spoke to the club earlier in the year. An outstanding job again by our superb Speaker Committee with help from everyone in the club.
