Tonight we were joined by Donna Hill from SAVeD, Save a Voiceless Dog. SAVeD is a rescue that aims to help all dogs in need, but focuses on pregnant female dogs. Pregnant female dogs are the hardest dogs to get adopted. Often if these dogs are left on the streets, pregnant, chained, unfed, unhoused and helpless. When Donna is able to get to these dogs she helps the mothers give birth to their puppies. SAVeD aims to pay the medical bills, which can be quite costly, to help these mothers safely give birth.

Donna has three dogs of her own and often has multiple other dogs in her home including a mom and her litter. When puppies stay in Donna’s home she tries to teach the dogs what it is like being in a home, how to get along with children, other dogs, and be trusting with an adult. When Donna feels that the puppies are ready to find a foster home, she ensures that they are going off to a safe and fitting home for every dog.

One of the most costly expenses when owning a dog is to get the puppy spayed/neutered. Donna is hoping to have a community spayed/neutered program to help local dog owner’s with the price of the costly surgery. This is something SAVeD is hoping to do as they grow their program.

SAVeD is only able to continue to help dogs in need from donations, if you would like to donate, visit their website www.savedrescue.com
